Their recent donation drive was a resounding success - and it's all thanks to the kindness of their team and the wonderful community who showed up in droves to help. From bags of food to cozy blankets, toys and essential supplies, every donation will go straight to the pups who need it most. Paw Angels is barking with gratitude, and so are we! To Wayne White Insurance Group and every big-hearted donor: thank you for proving that compassion isn't just insured - it's guaranteed. Welcome Frehley -- Sunday October 19th, 2025 Frehley was discovered in poor condition at a high school and was promptly taken to City Animal Control for help. Due to his dire circumstances, City Animal Control contacted us immediately. Upon arriving at the rescue, it was clear that Frehley was not only malnourished but also infested with fleas, had pressure sores from lying on hard surfaces without sufficient cushioning, and was suffering from cuts. Most importantly, he was extremely frightened. We estimate that he is around 5 to 6 months old and quite small. To aid in his recovery, we will be providing him with frequent small meals, treating his injuries, showering him with love, and offering plenty of toys, extra blankets, and a cozy sweater to keep him warm. We will keep everyone updated on his progress, but our current focus is on restoring his health.

Paw Paw the Pup Charms Seniors at Calhoun Center Visit -- Wednesday October 1st, 2025 Paw Paw, a sweet-natured senior dog with a heart as big as his paws, paid a special visit to the Calhoun Senior Center this week — and he was an instant hit. With a wagging tail and an impressive set of tricks, Paw Paw strutted his stuff for the crowd, showing off his sit, shake, and high-five skills before melting hearts when he rolled over for belly rubs. He spent the morning visiting with each resident, happily accepting pets, posing for photos, and soaking up all the attention. "He was such a good boy," said one staff member. "You could see how much joy he brought to everyone here — and how much he loved every minute of it." As he wandered the center, Paw Paw "told" his story with help from his handlers — about how he's looking for a forever home or a loving foster, and how he still has plenty of love (and tail wags) to give. They also shared stories about his doggy friends still waiting for homes, too. But it was Paw Paw’s big finale — flopping onto his back and flashing his belly — that truly stole the show. Laughter, smiles, and lots of “awws” filled the room. After a big morning of socializing, Paw Paw was so tuckered out he slept the whole car ride home. His caretakers hope this visit will help spark interest in adopting or fostering Paw Paw, who’s patiently waiting to find a loving home where he can keep spreading joy — one belly rub at a time. Anyone interested in giving this good boy a second chance can contact us to set up a meet and greet!
Thank you, Rocky! -- Monday September 29th, 2025 We extend our gratitude to Rocky, a dedicated employee at the restaurant, who first brought this situation to our attention. Around 8 AM on a Wednesday, he texted us, sharing that he had witnessed a family leave food out for a dog before driving away. The dog chased after them down the ramp. Rocky, positioned at the top of the hill in the parking lot, had glanced down just in time to see what unfolded. Unfortunately, by the time he reached the spot where the family had abandoned the dog, they were too far away to capture any license plate details. A custodian also observed the family allowing their children to play with the dog before leaving him behind.
For hours, the dog circled the area, waiting for his family to return. Throughout the day, Rocky made multiple attempts to earn the dog’s trust. After his shift ended, he drove from Rome to the rescue to collect a live trap. Once Rocky set up the trap, he patiently waited until the dog was caught.
In a fortunate turn of events, one of our volunteers, Charlie, happened to stop by with his truck, allowing us to load the trap for transport. Charlie and his family then drove the truck to the rescue, where we ensured the dog’s safety overnight.
We would also like to thank Gordon Animal Control for facilitating the dog's transition to a rescue the following morning.
Rocky’s actions were truly commendable—something many people might not have done. Without his commitment to helping this vulnerable dog, we can only imagine what could have happened.
Paw-blic Library Trip: Jacob -- Wednesday September 24th, 2025 This week, the quiet halls of the local library were filled with excitement—not because of a new book release, but thanks to a special four-legged visitor named Jacob! Jacob, a gentle and lovable rescue dog from Paw Angels Rescue, made a visit to the library, instantly winning hearts (and a few belly rubs). With a wagging tail and soulful eyes, he greeted every curious child with kindness, patiently sitting beside them as they read books or even worked on their homework. One young reader said, “He made my math less scary!”—now that’s what we call a real homework hero! But Jacob wasn’t just there to support the students—he was on a mission of his own: to find the paw-fect book. He sniffed through the shelves, explored the reading nooks, and even sat attentively during story time. From the children’s corner to the reference section, Jacob made sure to explore all the wonders the library had to offer. His favorite stop? The beanbag chairs and, of course, the treat bag from the librarian. Library staff called him “a true gentleman” and are already requesting a return visit. The best part? Jacob is looking for his forever home. If you're searching for a kind, gentle, and intelligent companion who loves books, kids, and adventures, Jacob might just be your next best friend. Visit Paw Angels Rescue to meet Jacob and learn how you can bring a little more tail-wagging joy into your life. Because every great story deserves a happy ending—and Jacob is ready for his!

Catoosa, GA Cruelty Case -- Thursday August 28th, 2025 https://www.fox5atlanta.com/news/dozens-dogs-rescued-major-catoosa-county-animal-cruelty-crackdown We were called to assist in rescuing three dogs from an animal cruelty situation in Tunnel Hill. On the premises, were 32 dogs to provide veterinary care, which were then transported to Murray, Walker Animal Control, and the Atlanta Humane Society. After examining the three dogs we agreed to take, were moved to Gordon Animal Hospital where they received further veterinary care and medications for their condition. Following their vet visit, we discovered they were suffering from fleas and ticks, skin issues, and severe undernourishment; the puppy weighed just 2 pounds. Additionally, they were found to have hookworms, tapeworms, and other ailments. We also learned that the two older dogs have Ehrlichia, a disease transmitted by infected ticks and that the female dog is heartworm positive. Though they face a challenging recovery journey, they are growing stronger each day. The puppy, named Murray, is gaining weight; Walker, the white and tan male, is still quite reserved but is making gradual progress, while Catoosa, the white and black female, is exploring her surroundings and enjoying time outdoors.
Weekend Paws & Relax: Sampson -- Wednesday August 27th, 2025 Weekend Paws & Relax!Sampson had so much fun during his weekend stay! He was such a good boy, followed all the house rules, and more importantly got extra snacks! Sampson was pampered with extra pillows and naps next to the fireplace. Even a short weekend away from the kennel can make a world difference for a rescue dog. Time spent in a home environment helps reduce stress, improves behavior, and gives them a chance to relax and be themselves. It also offers valuable insights into their personality, making it easier to match them with the right forever home. Just a couple of days of love, comfort, and normalcy can book their well-being and increase their chances of adoption. Click here to see Sampsons Profile! |
